11:05PM - stdympna_rp † Psychological Horror PanFandom RP

The Premise
Important Info
One moment you are fighting the villain, trying to take over the world, fighting, going to school or thousands of other things. Then you blink, you are in some warm clothes, and you feel unnaturally groggy. A person is sitting next to you; you never met them before but you feel close to them, they have a forced smile on their face and are holding your hand, rubbing the back of your hand with their thumb. You can feel their love for you, how something tells you that you have the problem and they are suffering for it.

"Don't worry. It will be all better soon." they say to you as you look out the window. There is heavy snow outside the window and a sign in the distance. You squint to read it but can't so you turn your attention to the sidetable. On there is a few pamphlets that read St. Dympna Mental Hospital. A mental hospital? You're not insane, well, you might be a bit off kilter but nothing to get you into a mental hospital

You don't belong here and you know it. Whats happening?

Welcome to stdympna_rp, a psychological-horror RP based in a mental institution. The goal here is not to survive, but to keep from losing yourself and uncover the mystery of the hospital and why you are here.

This RP was inspired by the various Asylum-based RPs on Livejournal, Kingdom Hospital, and various other horror and thriller books, movies, TV shows and video games.

Non-Fandom Original Characters welcomed!

We will start the game on NOVEMBER 1st. But we are accepting applications and reserves now.

welcome aboard pluto ix
It starts out like every other morning. You wake up, you brush your teeth, you make your breakfast. There's nothing good in the paper, so you get up to get dressed...except you hear a rumbling in the distance. Your glass of milk is trembling, and your whole house starts trembling. It feels like an earthquake - no, something bigger, and you scurry to the corner, hugging your knees to your chest, waiting it out as it comes closer and closer and closer -

There's destruction. Trees being ripped out by their roots, houses smashed to bits, and you're flying with cuts and bruises all over your body from this pushing invisible force. You fly so fast that you hear a POP in your ears. You close your eyes, your mouth open in a scream, thinking you're going to be flying forever when your body hits the ground.

You open your eyes.

All around is miles and miles of red desert. There are some mountains in the distance, the only survivors of a massive explosion that spread across the Earth. The air is thick with dust, dirt, chemicals, and poison. You can hardly breathe, and you clutch your throat, thinking you're going to suffocate any second now. It looks like no one is around, and you're going to die on the red planet completely alone.

Except you're not.

It sounds like a helicopter is landing. You're unsure. There are people shouting and picking you up and taking you on board this ship that looks like it came out of the Twilight Zone. The people are wearing metallic body suits, but they're more concerned with you than their bad fashion sense. They're drilling you with questions, performing tests, prodding, poking, and injecting a chip into your neck. They try to explain everything, and you can't comprehend everything at once.

"It's the year 2500. You have been catapulted out of your world by a nuclear blast. We will be taking you to Pluto IX: Space Colony with the last survivors of Earth."

Death Watch Bunker Goes live May 25th!

Friday, October 31, 2003

I had a great roleplay yesterday! fun!

from the personal log of Zjon:

I was feeling particularly weary after workinbg for a while. I've been taking jobs clearing out animal nests for some extra money. I went into the cantina in Kadaara and got some tea. I began to dance to help my body to relax and to take my mind off of the days events. A man walked in, a warrior of some sort by the look of him, and he sat down nearby and started watching me. He was quick to speak up and resassure me that he wasn't watching me dance because of sexual preference, but he just needed to rest his mind as well. I introduced myself, and he told me his name was Teccanina. As we conversed, I learned that he was also studying the art of Teras Kasi, and was a little more advanced than I. He offered to spar with me and I gladly accepted. This guy clearly has the moves, he quickly took me down. None of my punches seemed to connect at all, and he was relentless. We rested afterward and he taught me a few tips in fighting. He gave me a few weapons, and I politely accepted them, even though the only weapon I use is myself. We sparred again, this time I lasted a little bit longer against him. He was a worthy teacher to me, and we talked for a while. As we copnversed, we met Fo-ock, a Mon Cal artisan who hopes to build droids someday. Fo-ock and I talked about our backgrounds, I being son of a Moff and he being a former Imperial slave. I expressed genuine sadness about what he's had to go through. I really hope that his dreams come true. As I seek my own path in this galaxy, I am not sure what I will find. My father stood firm against the Rebellion and against the pacifists of Alderaan. He was even a slave owner. I left Coruscant because of all of those things, to seek peace for myself, to seek meaning in this tumultuous galaxy. I hope I can someday find that peace.

6:20PM - Bresh

Hello, I'm jedibri, I just joined this community. A few days ago, I created a new character on Starsider that I want to RP. He's a human male named Zjon who is on a quest for 'enlightenment'. He's currently in Kadaara on Naboo. Where are the Starsider RPers located? Anyone have any good RP ideas for me since my character is new? (i.e., anyone need a friend, relative, apprentice, enemy, etc.?) I'm open to ideas, suggestions for a better RP experience.

Sender: Lilin
Origin: Moenia_Naboo

Kulatai, you can't know how much I'm looking forward to your return from Keren. Since you left, things are pretty much proceeding as normal in this swampy, lawless little town. I smile, I keep dancing for the ladies, I relax in the hotel lobby with some home-brewed tea -- but it's just not the same without you.

I miss you most during those times when I turn a corner and I just get a bad feeling, like something is about to happen. I had a moment like that last night. Message continuedCollapse )

7:05AM - Do you think that Servants of the Shrub would ruin your immersion?

Greetings fellow SWG fans...

I discovered your group journal a couple of days ago after I created a group journal, of_the_shrub, representing the PA I belong to, Servants of the Shrub.

I noticed that this group journal is very RPG oriented, and I want to ask your opinion on something.

We did this post on the PA forums at Station, and we received an angry letter about our PA in reply...

"You guys seem like a nice group of people. I hope you have the decency to keep your "Shrubism" to yourselves when you're in the game world. The feeling of immersion into the Star Wars universe is important to a great many players, and this sort PA could easily yank them all back to reality.
Servants of the shrub that was a digital glitch in the beta, is as out of character a PA concept as can imagined. That is fine if it's your play-style, as long as it does not adversely impact other players. You might as well make your PA the "Barney the Purple Dinosaur's School of Dance". Do you see how PAs like this can destroy the feel of the Star Wars universe?

Your entire PA is on par with individual players that go about with names like "PizzaDood" or "IB UrDaddy". SOS will be far more offensive than a single player of this type, it's an entire guild dedicated to something that is completely out of character.

You guys are very happy with the friends you've made in SOS. That's what's wonderful about a good group of decent people that get together to increase each other's enjoyment of the game. So what's in a name? It's not too late to form this great PA in a way that is faithful to the Star Wars universe.

I know this guild has attracted the very sort of people who think the shrub joke is a wonderful foundation on which to establish their PA. I hope you can see though, that you will be adversely impacting a lot of people.

Have Force Sensitive Sheep formed yet? If not, of course it's only a matter of time since you are encouraging this sort of thing. If nothing can stop you from being out of character with the rest of the game world, maybe you and FSS and other such PA's can all move to the OOCJOKE server? Other players in PAs like "Comedy Central in Space" and "Gankers R'US" are sure to get a laugh out of your groups concept.

I'm sorry if this post seems offensive, but I am in fact offended. It's hard to be tactful when the atmosphere the designers have tried so hard to recreate is under assault even before the game opens up.

There is nothing wrong with having a sense of humor. You guys could easily be a PA of entertainers that specializes in comedy. Of just a regular PA that has a comedy club slant. But that comedy should be in synch with the Star Wars universe, otherwise it's out of character right?

I've visited your webpage and I see that you guys are decent and friendly. I hope you realize that basing your PA concept on a cross between a programming bug and Monty Python is right out. If you are as good willed as you seem, I'm sure you don't want to offend every stranger you meet in SWG who appreciates Star Wars in the faithful sense, not in the "My shwartz is bigger than yours" sense."

Granted, I realize that none of you have been to our site and have seen how we are as a PA, but don't you think this was a harsh response to what we are doing? The later posts by this person are much more hostile than this too. I was just wondering what your thoughts are on this.

4:37PM - Greetings!

I just wanted to invite members of this group to stop by The SWG-RP Website.

We are a friendly and welcoming group of people, united for the purpose of creating the most immersive role-playing atmosphere possible. In our efforts to achieve this, we have chosen to collect primarily on the Starsider server. We realize this is an "East Coast" server, but many PAs and Cities that have joined us are composed of people from timezones all over the world.

Our site contains role-playing guides, respectful debate, community activities, forum-based role-playing and more! Please come stop by.

SWG-RP handle -> Jascentia

The SWG-RP site is not directly affiliated with this livejournal group. The name is just a coincidence. :)
